Wieland wins the Best Managed Companies Award 2024

In recent years, the Wieland Group has experienced continuous growth under the leadership of Dr. Erwin Mayr, and has significantly expanded its presence in the attractive North American market. At the same time, Wieland has succeeded in transforming itself into a sustainable economy with a long-term focus on profitable growth. In the course of this development, a strong corporate culture has been created together with the current workforce of around 10,000 employees, always with the aim of leading the Wieland Group safely into the coming decades. The global market leader in the business of semi-finished products and system solutions made of copper and copper alloys has now been recognized for this strategic development with the Best Managed Companies Award.
On May 23, Wieland accepted the coveted award at a ceremony in Frankfurt, Germany. "This award is not only a confirmation of our strategy and corporate transformation, but furthermore a recognition of the outstanding work of our employees, whose experience and knowledge are the greatest success factor for Wieland in the global competition," emphasizes Mayr.
Headquartered in Ulm, Germany, the company is based on a family-oriented shareholder structure with more than 200 years of company history. "In order to sustainably secure and expand our business foundation, we have developed an integrated corporate strategy in recent years that is oriented towards the expectations of our stakeholders as well as our Wieland-culture," explains Dr. Erwin Mayr. "Our most important stakeholders involved in this strategy development are our shareholders, employees, customers and a broad network of suppliers." As part of the selection process, the Wieland Group underwent an intensive process over the past few months and completely convinced the jury in all categories - Strategy, Productivity & Innovation, Culture & Commitment, and Governance & Finance.
Best Managed Companies Award
Launched by Deloitte in Canada in the 1990s, the Best Managed Companies programm is now a seal of quality for successful SMEs in more than 45 countries. The competition is organized by Deloitte Private, UBS, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Federation of German Industries (BDI). The vision: to create a national and global ecosystem of exceptional managed medium-sized companies.
