Wieland’s sustainable growth
The Wieland Group, based in Ulm, Germany, with a successful history of more than 200 years and currently comprising 80 locations worldwide, reported an excellent development of key performance indicators in the fiscal year 2020/21, as announced at the Annual General Meeting on January 28, 2022.
The global market leader for semi-finished products and system solutions made of copper and copper alloys, increased revenues to 5.4 billion EURO and achieved an operating profit (EBITDA) of 520 million EURO.
The megatrend of „Sustainability“ is driving the transition to an electrified world and – combined with the need for CO2 free energy generation – will continue to fuel the demand growth for premium copper semi-finished products for many years to come, especially in Europe and North America.
After several strategic acquisitions and large-scale investments directly geared towards customer requirements over the last few years, the Wieland Group has become the market leader in both North America and Europe with currently approximately 8,000 employees globally of which about 4,000 employees are based in Ulm and Voehringen in the South of Germany.
The Wieland Group intends to continue its strong growth plans beyond the solid core business, especially with fundamental investments in the area of metal recycling. With this, the Wieland Group contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gases, secures long-term metal supply and provides customers with options for joint, sustainable closed-loop business models.
